We were condo hunting and one of the doors opened to a sight I fell in love with. Ahead was the most beautiful beach in the world. Just over the balcony (gallery as known on St. Croix) was a sight that took my breath away. I knew right then this was going to be MY BEACH! ..
I still love my husband and kids but in comparison to that one BEACH, it is a hard choice! There is a perfect beach for everyone somewhere on St. Croix. I hope you can visit St. Croix, take pictures and make your own wonderful memories.
There is so much to see and do on St. Croix; you cannot encompass it all in a week. Let's get a head start.
This web site is to give you an idea of what is available to see and do. Choose your own bit of "Paradise" find your own special "Beach" and Enjoy St. Croix!
We have been visitors since 1996 becoming proud owners in 1999. We have seen and done so much on St. Croix U.S.V.I. We would like to share our experiences with you.
Sunny beaches abound on our wonderful Caribbean paradise of which all are accessible to the public including the ones at resorts. They may charge a fee for use of some beach facilities, and on private property there may be certain restrictions. But all of the Beaches are all for public enjoyment according to St. Croix law.
A poll of 3000 vacationers taken by Yahoo! and Travel/National Geographic in 2004-2005 said 75% that a beach was their favorite vacation destination. What did people want in a beach? Top five priorities were cleanliness, a scenic panorama, great climate, perfect water temperature and of course romance. A St Croix beach can offer all of that. Want to fly a kite, or build a sand castle? How about just looking out at the ocean and sipping a cool one? I have done all of that but recommend you DO NOT try making a snow angel in the sand. That hurts!
Also, don't drive on St. Croix Beaches and do not disturb turtle nests near the surface in the sand as many beaches are nesting sites for endangered sea turtles. But beware of the Manchineel (Poison Apple) tree found on Buck Island and at other locations; its sap can cause burns to the skin, and blindness if rubbed in the eyes. Check our flora and fauna section.
There are so many nice St. Croix beaches that you will have to decide which your favorite is. It won't be an easy choice but what fun checking them out! What do you want? Seclusion, beach bar with live music, or one with a reef that is great for snorkeling or diving.
The salt water of the Caribbean Sea makes snorkeling a breeze and an exhilarating Caribbean experience. Many reefs are close to shore so sea life is abundant for snorkelers. A world-renowned dive site is also here.

St. Croix beaches are all unique. Many beaches on St. Croix are continuous with other beaches having different names, check out our thoughts on them. So come on and enjoy the St. Croix beaches and our experiences as much as we have.
