Whim Plantation is a restored sugar plantation with the ruins of the rum distilling process, slave quarters and cook house.
The great house is made with a combination of rock and coral mortared with sugar molasses and sea shells. Buildings of this time period were made with this type of construction The windows had no glass, only shutters. and Whim Plantation is a good example. The ceilings are very high to help with air circulation. Take the tour and learn about the daily life of the plantation owner and of the slaves.
Estate Whim Plantation is a typical plantation style laid out in the 1730's by the Danish West Indian Company.
Learn about the three different cane processing techniques. Animal, steam and wind. The Whim Plantation has examples of all three. See sugar cane growing in a nearby field.
Branding irons were used to mark the barrels of rum with the mark of the plantation's name. They were then taken to the customs house for export.

Northshore Beaches: Some have smooth sandy bottoms ideal for swimming, and others have rock and coral-lined entries perfect for snorkeling! Many beaches on St. Croix are continuous with other beaches having a different name.
Southside Beaches:The south shore is dotted with so many little beaches that you just happen onto, that is highly unlikely that we have found them all.
East End Beaches : There are many beaches East of Christiansted on St. Croix . Some are a bit harder to get to but usually not as crowded.
West End Beaches : St. Croix offers a large number of beaches and water activities. Try a few for a fun and memorable vacation. All of the beaches in the US Virgin Islands are accessible to the public.
