When you pay to enter Fort Christiansted you are getting the access to three historical sites. The Fort, the Government House and the Steeple Building

A Park Ranger will give you a receipt for your $3.00 admission fee and give you a booklet that will show you around Fort Christiansted. It contains a map and historical information about the Fort.

The plaques are also informative.

Built on the site of an earlier French earth-works, this Danish Fort guarded town and harbor through the perilous early years. The mission was accomplished attack never came. Later, as police station and court, Christiansvaern continued in the cause of peace

Thank goodness modern facilities
are available today.

The soldiers were expected to
wear wool uniforms in this heat!

Restoration is an ongoing
process from normal deterioration
to new finds. Below they are
preserving the base of a whipping
post for future restoration.

Not an officer? Well we can stroll in the inner yard.

The Fort Christiansted makes quite an impression on most visitors.

The entrance proclaims: 1836
What do the letters mean?
The Ranger knows,
Most rooms are available for viewing. Some are through glass others through barriers to keep the displays preserved. And yet so much of the entire Fort is totally open to the visitors.
Don't believe they bake much anymore.
